Camping In Bali

Camping is not big in Bali, as there are so many great , low priced hotels all over the island, and very little wide open space to lose yourself in. However, after some research, I found a great place up in the hills on the way to Bedugul. It is called Bali Outbound and farm stay, and I would highly recommend it.

Set on a ten hectare plot of land, there is plenty of space, and the owners  have set up various activities to keep you and your family entertained.  I went there with my parents and my three children, and there was plenty to keep us all amused.

My parents love camping and our summer holidays in my childhood were spent camping in various locations around England and Scotland.  They are what could be termed hardcore campers, and have all the gear to protect them in all weather. Of course, they did not bring any of it with them to Bali, and fortunately we did not need it.

We were greeted with a very warm welcome, by the owners. They then led to our tents, that had already been set up for us, next to a bathroom facility, with toilets, and showers! The tents even had mattresses inside. This was camping in style!  My parents scoffed  that this was not true camping, but I was quite happy not to have to lie on a bumpy floor!

We spent our days enjoying the activities that were available. The kids enjoyed paintballing, in an enclosed area, full of long grass and various obstacles to hide behind. There are platforms positioned outside the area where I could watch what was going on, and it was very entertaining to see them play at warfare. They played nicely, and there were no tears, which is always a bonus! We then all took a turn on the ATVs, zooming around the circuit that circled the facility.

The owners cultivate an organic farm on the property, so while the kids and I were playing, my parents took a stroll around the farm, and were treated to some home grown strawberries.

In the evenings, we cooked our own food on a barbeque that was provided, and sat on the benches, and looked up at the stars. We had a lovely weekend, and would have loved to extend our stay for longer, but unfortunately, we had other plans. We will definitely go back again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a different, outdoor experience.

There is something for all the family, and they even organize very successful team building activities for corporate companies.
